Richard Nixon founded the EPA in 1970.\u00a0 It is relevant to this blog because Okra Garden Supply\u2019s first product is Diatomite.\u00a0 Which I am in the process of rebranding to Diatoms.\u00a0 The name is of little import.\u00a0 What matters is whether I am going to sell it as a pesticide.\u00a0 Of seemingly less importance is whether it kills ants.\u00a0 I am trying to settle both issues.\u00a0 This post is the beginning of understanding the rules of selling pesticide.\u00a0 Future posts will address the efficacy of the product.<\/p>\n

Selling as Pesticide:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since I use Diatoms to control ants I need to follow the following rules form the Code of Federal Regulations, which is different that the U.S. Code:<\/p>\n

Title 40 – Protection of Environment
\nTitle 40 – Protection of Environment
\nChapter I – ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (CONTINUED)
\nSubchapter E – PESTICIDE PROGRAMS
\nPart 152 – PESTICIDE REGISTRATION AND CLASSIFICATION PROCEDURES
\nSubpart G – Obligations and Rights of Registrants
\nSection 152.130 – Distribution under approved labeling<\/p>\n

Title 40 Protection of Environment:<\/strong> sounds good, I like the environment.<\/p>\n

Chapter 1 Environmental Protection Agency:<\/strong> \u00a0please note that there is no chapter 2 or three of this title.\u00a0 The subchapters of chapter 1 are listed alphabetically, and there is no \u2018K\u2019, \u2018L\u2019, or \u2018M\u2019.\u00a0 Subchapter \u2018P\u2019 is \u2018reserved\u2019 as are \u2018S\u2019 and \u2018T\u2019.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know what reserved means.<\/p>\n

Subchapter E \u201cPesticide Programs\u201d<\/strong> is what I need, I think.\u00a0 There are 27 parts of that subchapter, and they are numbered Parts 150-180.\u00a0 The PDF of this is 704 pages long.\u00a0 Well, if I read at least two pages per day eventually I will know this document.\u00a0 So, perhaps it will be a little add on to my daily blog.<\/p>\n

Oh My.\u00a0 I just want to sell you Diatoms so that you can garden in peace with piece of mind.<\/p>\n

But I guess instead this blog will spend many days moving through Title 40, Chapter 1, Subchapter E.<\/p>\n
